We will work multiple intelligences in a
dynamic and fun way through reading a short story and apart from this story we will
make a series of activities for corners.
THE
JUNGLE BOY
Many years ago in the tropical jungle was
abandoned a baby, his name is Mowgli. It seemed that their
survival would be impossible because it was too small to survive on their own. But Simba the lion found him walking around and felt tenderness to
him and could not leave it abandoned. So that day he called a meeting all the animals of the jungle to
see that among all could care for him.
All jungle animals attended the meeting. Simba the lion told to all animals that he had been found walking a human baby and
could not leave it there. He asked all the animals if they would commit to take
care of him and accept as one.
At that time the group of giraffes neck up
asking to speak and said it was crazy to keep this baby, which was very
different from them and was not going to survive.
All animals started to comment what they said
in agreement with them. But at that time the group of parrots raised their
wings for speak and said to all the animals that the best idea would be that
all take care him as he deserved because he was a living being. When Mowgli
grow a little and be prepared animals will take to the city to live with the
humans.
All animals seemed a good idea and thus began
a debate on who would teach everything needed for live in the city. As they could not agree Simba the Lion King
ripped a large palm leaf and made a list of the different knowledge that the
child had to have and the groups of animals were pointing their name on what
they thought That highlighted.
Once all groups of animals were noted in the
list, Simba the lion king read it to all animals for clear to them their role
in their child's education.
-Simba the Lion King: Friends I will read you
the final list so that all may know that thou have to teach Mowgli, when he
turn 4 years old. You will have to prepare to date so that everything goes
well, meanwhile hippo mom take care of him.
The list is:
1.
Parrots will have to show the
rhythms of the jungle, our songs, different sounds and that exist on earth…
2. The
giraffe because they are great
acrobats, fast, have great tactile sensitivity and are great dancers should
teach their skills to Mowgli.
3. The
lephants since they are very good storytellers will give him that
knowledge.
4. Gorillas
are very extroverted and will have to in charge of teaching relate to others
and work together.
5. The
Crocodiles that they are great thinkers have to help him know himself.
6. Tigers
since they are good mathematicians and
know the calculation in perfection will be responsible for teaching this
skill.
7.
Lions We'll help him to understand the nature fauna and flora.
And now we can not waste time and we have to
prepare to do the best that we can.
WORK
PLACES
Now the teacher has to explain to the
students that they are going to be animals of the history and
students should be prepared to help the little Mowgli back to the city with
humans. First the teacher make 6 groups and in
a big classroomshe has to make different corners with activities that represent
each of the groups of animals with their multiple intelligence, I
mean, create corners to work multiple intelligences that appear in the story
represented by animals.Pupils have to be every work corners for
15 minutes.
This work places are:
The
parrots (Musical Intelligence):
This represents the musical multiple intelligence, in this activity students
will have to sing and learn the song of
the animals playing various instruments
that the teacher gives them.
This is the song:
Let's go to the zoo.
And stomp like the elephants
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And stomp like the elephants
do.
Jump like kangaroos.
Let's go to the zoo.
And jump like the kangaroos
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And jump like the kangaroos
do.
Swing like monkeys.
Let's go to the zoo.
And swing like the monkeys
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And swing like the monkeys
do.
Waddle like penguins.
Let's go to the zoo.
And waddle like the penguins
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And waddle like the penguins
do.
Slither like snakes.
Let's go to the zoo.
And slither like the snakes
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And slither like the snakes
do.
Swim like polar bears.
Let's go to the zoo.
And swim like the polar
bears do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And swim like the polar
bears do.
Let's go to the zoo.
And dance like the animals
do.
Let's go to the zoo.
The
giraffe (Spatial Intelligence):
Will be in charge of moving to the rhythm of the song of the parrots through
movement coorporal represent the song.
The
elephants (Verbal Linguistic Intelligence): in this activity the students will be responsible for inventing and continues the Jungle
boy story and invent for it the end. In the corner there will be
pictures of different characters and a card blank for students to make their
small mural of history writing below each image that will happen.
The
gorillas (Interpersonal Intelligence):
They
will have to work in groups analyzing the clues and guessing what animal it is,
the teacher will provide them with clues and pictures of animals and the
students have to place the animals in
the cardboard with their tracks.
The
Crocodiles (Intrapersonal Intelligence): The activity relizaran crocodiles called "let's introduce
ourselves to mowgli" in this corner the groups have to complete personal and indicidual form a tab on those
who are that tastes better that you are given and do that it gives worse do. And
then I show it to their classmates.
The
Tigers (Logical Mathematics): In
this part students have to complete a series of tabs. The first students will
paint the animal that is not equal to the rest of the color and directed. The
second will have to solve the operations and to the outcome paint everything
one color.
To end the activity, we should not forget
that we have to reveal the end of the story. For those who want it will tell
the other the end that they imagine and have prepared in the corner of the verbal
Linguistic Intelligence.
